The Eldorado Sundevils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 57-17 loss at the hands of Southeast Career Tech. Eldorado has not had much luck with the Roadrunners recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Eldorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Torrico Lopez. Despite the final result, she scored nine points. That was a full 52.9% of Eldorado's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Southeast Career Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bianca Vazquez led the charge by scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Morgan Sweet was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Eldorado has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Southeast Career Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.
Eldorado will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Somerset Academy Losee's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Sundevils have been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Southeast Career Tech will take on the Archers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Amplus Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
