The Princeton Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Shady Spring on the road to the tune of 61-27. The win was just what Princeton needed coming off of a 64-27 loss in their prior match.
Kalee Wright continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with five steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Collins, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Shady Spring lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendra Pizzino, who scored nine points. Pizzino scored a full 33.3% of Shady Spring's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Shady Spring struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Shady Spring, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Princeton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pulaski County at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Pulaski County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 100th in Virginia, while Princeton is ranked 19th in West Virginia). As for Shady Spring, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Independence at 7:00 p.m.
