Big North - United recap September 10, 2013
Keyon Washington of Paramus Catholic ran for the longest rushing play in Big North - United this season against Gilman last week. Washington scampered for 73 yards on the play and finished with 152 on the day as his team defeated the Greyhounds.
Don Bosco Prep took down St. Joseph's Prep 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Paramus Catholic's dynamic duo of Steve Shanley and Najee Clayton proved to be unstoppable against Gilman, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Shanley threw for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns and Clayton had 80 yards receiving. Dejon Harrison helped Paramus Catholic's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 67 yards.
Chris Partridge's team's dynamic duo of Shanley and Clayton proved tough for Biff Poggi's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Sherman Alston was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 150 yards on 23 carries as St. Joseph Regional bested the Greyhounds. Teammate Spencer Aukamp added to the ground attack by rushing for 79 yards.
He was 19-25 with 1 interceptions.
Colin McGovern was a passing and rushing force as Bergen Catholic fell to Curtis. He completed 22 passes for 223 yards and also ran for 56 yards. McGovern's key target this week was JP Garcia, who caught 4 passes for 51 yards.
Clayton was the best receiver in the league this week as Paramus Catholic topped Gilman.
Shanley put up the best numbers through the air as the Paladins defeated the Greyhounds.
The Green Knights led Big North - United in scoring this week by notching 42 points on DeMatha. Aukamp threw for 103 yards in the win.
