The Escondido Charter White Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The match between Escondido Charter and Francis Parker wasn't particularly close, with Escondido Charter falling 86-68. While losing is never fun, Escondido Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 777th, while Francis Parker is ranked 372nd).
Several White Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Pincock, who scored eight points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Scates, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Leading Francis Parker to victory were Tavid Johnson and Amon Andrews. Johnson scored 26 points along with four steals, while Andrews scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrews has scored all season. Kamran Dubois was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals and three blocks.
Escondido Charter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Francis Parker, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escondido Charter will take on Maranatha Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Francis Parker won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tri-City Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Tri-City Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
