The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Victory Christian Center. While losing is never fun, Creekside Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 98th in Georgia, while Victory Christian Center is ranked 24th in North Carolina).
Creekside Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cedric Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Taylor hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Reddick, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Creekside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Victory Christian Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Creekside Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Konos Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Konos Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Victory Christian Center, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Norman Christian at 5:30 p.m. Lake Norman Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Victory Christian Center likes a good challenge.
