Pen Argyl is 0-10 against Notre Dame-Green Pond since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pen Argyl Green Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders at 6:45 p.m. Pen Argyl, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Notre Dame-Green Pond's (thus far) undefeated season.
Last Monday, Pen Argyl was beaten by Wilson Area 48-17. While losing is never fun, Pen Argyl can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while Wilson Area is ranked 217th).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pen Argyl struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Notre Dame-Green Pond has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Saucon Valley with a sharp 64-41 victory on Thursday.
Pen Argyl bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Pen Argyl suffered a grim 73-50 defeat to Notre Dame-Green Pond when the teams last played back in February. Can Pen Argyl avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
