Meanwhile, Colon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-50 victory over Mendon. With that win, Colon brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Colon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nic Mock led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dalton Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Athens' loss was their 16th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Colon, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Athens was taken down by Colon 76-28 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Athens was down 49-14.
