The Avon Panthers were the 72-70 winner over the Holbrook Bulldogs when they last played one another on January 10th, but their luck changed this time around. Avon fell 77-67 to the Bulldogs on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (55), Avon still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Avon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nyisah Miranda. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miranda has scored all season. Ashad Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Holbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon is on the road again on Monday and plays the Bengals at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th. As for Holbrook, they will face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
