The Lincoln Lynx's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sioux City West. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Lynx players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hutson Rau, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Pearce, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Lincoln were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lincoln's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Sioux City West, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against Sergeant Bluff-Luton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sergeant Bluff-Luton is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Sioux City West, they will be playing at home against Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
