Willsboro Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Lake Placid Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Willsboro Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Willsboro Central suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-14 loss at the hands of Boquet Valley. Willsboro Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.
Meanwhile, Lake Placid entered their tilt with Crown Point with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lake Placid came out on top against Crown Point by a score of 31-20 on Friday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Lake Placid has managed all season.
Lake Placid relied on the efforts of Kyra Jordon, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds, and Margaret Thatcher, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thatcher has scored all season.
Willsboro Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lake Placid, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-9.
Everything went Willsboro Central's way against Lake Placid in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Willsboro Central made off with a 59-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Willsboro Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
