Northridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They secured a 57-53 W over the Kearns Cougars. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 73-69 loss the last time these two teams met.
Daniel Sunkuli had a dynamite game, putting up 19 points and eight rebounds. Jett Williams was another key player, scoring nine points.
Northridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kearns only pulled down four.
Defeat or not, Kearns got some senior leadership from Gio Cintron and Xian Brown. Cintron posted ten points and five boards, while Brown earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Kau, who had eight points and ten rebounds.
Coming up, Northridge will square off against Cedar at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kearns, they will challenge Maple Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
