The May River Sharks will head out on the road to square off against the Beaufort Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. May River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
May River barely beat Bluffton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sharks were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bobcats on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.
Kollin Sanchez tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, May River got a massive performance out of Trevor Konte, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Konte has become a key player for the Sharks: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Micah Morgan was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
May River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bluffton only posted a batting average of .130.
Meanwhile, Beaufort was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Hilton Head Island.
May River's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Beaufort, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Beaufort's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: May River hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Beaufort, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain May River's hitters?
May River was able to grind out a solid victory over Beaufort in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
