After a string of three wins, Van Horn's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to the Battle Spartans on the road by a 77-61 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

Leading Battle to victory were Vernell Holt and Brandon Rooks. Holt went 8 of 16 on his way to 17 points and three steals, while Rooks went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Lewis, who posted ten points and five boards.

Van Horn now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Battle, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Van Horn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-42 loss against Belton on the 29th. As for Battle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-63 victory against Blue Springs on the 29th.
