The Jefferson Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clarke Central Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Jefferson's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Gladiators have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Jefferson stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 67-47 victory. Given Jefferson's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Patriots are ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Clarke Central was able to grind out a solid victory over the Patriots on Tuesday, taking the game 52-40. The win was just what Clarke Central needed coming off of a 66-33 loss in their prior game.
Jefferson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Clarke Central, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Everything came up roses for Jefferson against the Gladiators in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 64-27 victory. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or do the Gladiators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
