Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Jacksboro's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Jacksboro won the last time they faced Bowie and things went their way on Saturday too. Jacksboro blew past Bowie 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brooke Reaves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Brailyn Tullous was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Shelby Seaberry was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Jacksboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. Bowie's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Jacksboro Tigers face off against Krum Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bowie, they are taking a road trip to challenge Iowa Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Iowa Park's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Bowie's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
