Football Recap: Hernando Skates Past Citrus with Ease

While Hernando put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Citrus. The Leopards took their matchup with ease, bagging a 43-0 win over the Hurricanes. The Leopards have beaten the Hurricanes the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hurricanes has come to flipping the script.

Michael Saltsman had an outrageously good game as he threw for 361 yards and six TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 30 yards. Those 361 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Antonio Brown was Saltsman's top target, picking up 132 receiving yards and three scores.

Hernando's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Caleb Williams with two sacks.

Hernando's record now sits at 5-2. As for Citrus, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hernando will face off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Leopards will be up against the Warhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Citrus, they will square off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
