Volleyball Recap: Beatrice Wins Going Away Against Ralston

Beatrice barely beat Ralston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Orangemen were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rams on Thursday. The match marked the Orangemen's most dominant win of the season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Beatrice took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-5.

Beatrice's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kara Schuster, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Schuster a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiley Hatcliff, who had 15 assists and 14 aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Beatrice was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Beatrice is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-17 record this season. As for Ralston, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-24.

Looking ahead, Ralston will head out on the road to challenge Omaha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Beatrice will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' matchup: after the Rams face off against the Guardians, they'll take on Beatrice again at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
