The Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans won the last time they faced the Astoria/VIT Rebels, and things went their way on Friday too. Bushnell-Prairie City strolled past Astoria/VIT with points to spare, taking the game 51-37.
Astoria/VIT lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Sherrod, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Sherrod's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Huston, who scored 11 points.
Bushnell-Prairie City's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Astoria/VIT, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Bushnell-Prairie City will head out on the road to face off against Farmington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Astoria/VIT, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beardstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
