Beddingfield is 9-1 against North Johnston since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Beddingfield Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Johnston Panthers at 5:45 p.m. Hopefully Beddingfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
Beddingfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Goldsboro. While losing is never fun, Beddingfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Goldsboro is ranked 41st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sa'Naiya Coppedge, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Natasha Marshall, who scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, North Johnston greeted the New Year with with a 40-24 win over Rosewood.
Beddingfield's loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for North Johnston, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Everything came up roses for Beddingfield against North Johnston in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 59-22 victory. Does Beddingfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Johnston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
