Even though the Temple Christian Crusaders have not done well against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Temple Christian claimed a resounding 52-9 win over the EAGLES on the road. That looming 52-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Temple Christian yet this season.
Emma Cash continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Alyssa Conner was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Roanoke Valley Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Boyd, who scored three points along with seven blocks. Boyd hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jessica Eaton, who scored three points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Temple Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 8-7. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple Christian will take on the Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Westover Christian Academy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
