The Daniel Boone Trailblazers will face off against the Unicoi County Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Daniel Boone 4, Unicoi County 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Daniel Boone took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Science Hill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trailblazers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilltoppers on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Trailblazers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Braydon Norton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit.

Meanwhile, Unicoi County beat Madison 8-4 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kolby Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Dustin Bogart was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Kaden Cutlip was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
Unicoi County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Unicoi County's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Daniel Boone, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Daniel Boone hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Unicoi County struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Daniel Boone's way against Unicoi County in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, as Daniel Boone made off with a 9-0 win. Do the Trailblazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
