After a string of three wins, Neumann's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the First Baptist Academy Lions by a score of 2-1. The Celtics were probably out for revenge after losing 1-0 to them when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Their goal came courtesy of Marcela Leon, who's now up to five this season.

Neumann's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for First Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1-4.

Neumann will head out to challenge Lely at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neumann is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season. As for First Baptist Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Community School of Naples at 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
