The Freedom Christian Academy Patriots suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against NC GBB Academy, falling 77-36. Freedom Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.
Freedom Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allison Lett, who scored 20 points. Lett continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzie Dalton-Jimenez, who scored 11 points.
NC GBB Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miyani Bullock, who scored 16 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bullock has scored all season. Dariyah Harris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Freedom Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for NC GBB Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fayetteville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for NC GBB Academy, they will face off against Howard at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Howard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 504th, while NC GBB Academy is ranked 66th).
