Basketball Recap: Thatcher Little and Ethan Overdorf Secure Win for Healdsburg

There's no place like home for Healdsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past the Cloverdale Eagles with a 56-52 win on Friday. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 54-49 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Healdsburg was led to victory by Ethan Overdorf and Thatcher Little. Overdorf posted 16 points along with eight boards and five assists, while Little went 10 of 23 en route to 21 points and seven boards. Overdorf is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincenzo Loupy, who had five points and eight rebounds.

Healdsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Cloverdale lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaxson Randolph, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points along with six assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Montanye, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points and eight boards.

Healdsburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Cloverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Healdsburg will head out to take on Ukiah at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cloverdale, they will welcome Upper Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale is facing Upper Lake at the right time seeing as Upper Lake is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
