The Winner Warriors stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 45-20 margin over McLaughlin. Winner pushed the score to 41-7 by the end of the third, a deficit McLaughlin cut but never quite recovered from.
Winner found their leader in underclassman Kylie Sachtjen, who scored 13 points along with eight steals. Sachtjen hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Cici Watson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McLaughlin struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Winner racked up 11 assists.
Winner's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for McLaughlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winner will take on Platte/Geddes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McLaughlin, they will head out on the road to face off against Standing Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. McLaughlin is facing Standing Rock at the right time seeing as Standing Rock is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
