Yucca Valley won the last time they faced Banning and Aiden Pope did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 62-42 margin over the Broncos on Friday thanks in part to Pope, who picked up 305 receiving yards and four scores, and also rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 106.3 receiving yards per game.

Yucca Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Ian Jarrett picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Banning's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of JMARI GARLINGTON, who picked up 305 receiving yards and three TDs, and JACOB ANZALDUA, who threw for 414 yards and six touchdowns. JADONNIE NICHOLS did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 81 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Yucca Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Banning, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Yucca Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coachella Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,176 yards in their previous games. As for Banning, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Twentynine Palms at 7:00 p.m. The Broncos will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
