The Carlisle Thundering Herd have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They really took it to Boiling Springs for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-48 victory on the road. Given Carlisle's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Boiling Springs is ranked 124th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Bubblers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Yenser, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Richie, who scored 13 points.
The win (which was Carlisle's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.
Carlisle will head out on the road to face off against State College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. State College and Carlisle are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Boiling Springs and Bishop McDevitt will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
