Volleyball Recap: Autumn Bradshaw Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Christ Covenant

Community Christian won the last time they faced Christ Covenant, and Emilee Finberg did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cyclones were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans on Thursday thanks in part to Finberg, who had eight kills and four aces. Finberg is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least six every time she's taken the court this season.

Community Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Christ Covenant between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-19.

Community Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Autumn Bradshaw led the charge by getting three aces and one block. Another player making a difference was Payton Bush, who had four aces and one assist.

Community Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Christ Covenant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Community Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Gramercy Christian on the 19th. As for Christ Covenant, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Faith Christian Academy on the 23rd.
