St. Edward came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Master's Academy Patriots to the tune of 44-14. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

St. Edward's was led to victory by Amajyn Cannon and Avonti Jennings. Cannon went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points in addition to eight steals and six boards, while Jennings went 9 for 16 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Cannon a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Anastasia Headley, who posted five points in addition to 11 rebounds and five steals.

St. Edward's was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Master's Academy only posted two assists.

Master's Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Phoenix Henderson and Naomi Powell. Henderson scored four points and five steals, while Powell earned two points. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times she's played.

St. Edward's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game. As for Master's Academy, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

St. Edward's has already played their next game, a 40-36 loss against Merritt Island Christian on the 6th. As for Master's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-13 defeat against Boca Raton Christian on the 31st.
