1A Tar-Roanoke recap Oct. 23, 2012
Gates County moved up to 289 from 318 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A Tar-Roanoke. The Red Barons were able to make move up by defeating North Edgecombe 43-26.
KIPP Pride took down Rocky Mount Prep 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Northampton County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Jaguars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keion Crossen has thrown for 425 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Brian Lassiter has four catches for 212 yards. Lassiter leads the league in rushing with 865 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Northampton County takes on second place Southeast Halifax. Northampton County fell to Bertie last week, while Southeast Halifax beat Weldon.
