Western recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Western this week, Madison beat Point Loma 28-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
La Jolla scaled the state rankings by moving to 461 from 487 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vikings were able to move up by besting Kearny 32-3.
La Jolla's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Collin Rugg threw for 127 and 1 touchdown and Carlton O'Neal had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Reid Martin chipped in 92 yards. Brandon Bonham helped La Jolla's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 39 yards.
Rugg put up the best numbers in passing as Jason Carter's team beat the Komets. Rugg's favorite target this week was O'Neal, who caught 3 passes for 76 yards.
The Vikings' Rugg and Bonham led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Rugg has thrown for 2,035 yards this season, while Bonham has 31 catches for 675 yards. Kevin Moore from Madison leads the league in rushing with 964 yards.
In 94 carries Moore has accumulated 964 yard this year.
Mission Bay took down Coronado 49-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
