Two dominant guards in Alijah Adem and Zak Abdalla are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Spring Valley Grizzlies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Foothill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Spring Valley was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Centennial. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (57), Spring Valley still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Adem, who scored 28 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was CJ Joshua, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Foothill faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Foothill pulled ahead with a 74-73 photo finish over Centennial. The score was all tied up 37-37 at the break, but Foothill was the better team in the second half.
Spring Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Foothill, they pushed their record up to 16-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Spring Valley ended up a good deal behind Foothill in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, losing 84-65. Will Spring Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
