The Taylor Ducks will square off against the Waco Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Taylor and five for Waco.
On Tuesday, Taylor suffered a tough 69-43 defeat at the hands of Burnet. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylor in their matchups with Burnet: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Taylor had strong showings from Treos Richardson, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds, and Harrison Tate, who scored 10 points. Richardson scored a full 55.8% of Taylor's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Waco was the victim of a tough 62-37 loss at the hands of Midway on Tuesday. Waco was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Waco, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Taylor came up short against Waco in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, falling 80-70. Can Taylor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
