Weiss has won five straight games at home, while Anderson has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Wolves will welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Weiss' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
Weiss is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering College Station just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Despite 85 more yards than the Cougars, the Wolves couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jaxon Schad and Keaton Johnson. Johnson had a great game and rushed for 177 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Schad was balling out in the loss, throwing for 427 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards and two scores.
Meanwhile, Anderson was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Lockhart 56-22. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Anderson's win came from a few key players Weiss will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Randolph, who threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in one TD on the ground. What's more, he racked up 144.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Caleb Crenshaw helped Randolph out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards and three scores.
Anderson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 237 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.
Anderson's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Weiss' defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Anderson, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Everything came up roses for Weiss against Anderson in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 38-9 victory. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
