Southern Connecticut Division II - West recap Sept. 26, 2012
Joe Nault and Tyler Nelson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against West Haven. The connection went for 61 yards, the longest such play in Southern Connecticut Division II - West this season.
Law moved up to 114 from 140 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lawmen were able to make the jump by beating Wilbur Cross 28-12.
Guilford's dynamic duo of Nault and Nelson proved tough for the Blue Devils to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nault threw for 111 yards and Nelson had 61 yards receiving. David Knapp helped Guilford's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Daron Britt was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 101 yards on six carries as Law fell to West Haven. Joe Ziebell also contributed to the rushing game with 83 yards on the ground.
Guilford's Nault and Nelson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Southern Connecticut Division II - West in both passing and receiving yards. Nault has thrown for 143 yards this season, while Nelson has one catches for 61 yards. Hillhouse's Andre Anderson leads the league in rushing yards with 278.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Branford takes on the Academics. As it stands, the Hornets are in third, while Hillhouse is in second.
Mark Robinson's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,641 from 12,594. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-12 victory over the Governors last week.
