Cambridge City Lincoln is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Muncie Burris with a sharp 22-3 win on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Oliver Webb made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Cambridge City Lincoln's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Webb was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cambridge City Lincoln let Noah Patterson and Dustin Lunsford run wild. Patterson got on base in all six of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Lunsford went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Meanwhile, Union County came into Monday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Monroe Central on Monday, sneaking past 3-2.
Union County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Coleton Wicker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Union County's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cambridge City Lincoln has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Union County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
