Meanwhile, Rustburg lost to Liberty Christian at home by a 70-52 margin on Wednesday.
Rustburg's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Amherst County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Amherst County took a serious blow against Rustburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 77-50. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Amherst County was down 43-15.
