Volleyball Recap: Landrum Starts Season with Win Against Greer + How To Watch

Landrum had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They won by a set and slipped past the Greer Yellow Jackets 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won three in a row.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 27-25.

Landrum's offense was headlined by Halie Cantrell and Olivia Washington, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Maddie Smith and her 25 assists. Ella Wilkie controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Greer saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ivey Tapp had 15 digs and 15 assists.

Greer now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Landrum and Greer will both be playing First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Yellow Jackets will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
