The Grainger Grizzlies will venture away from home to face off against the Greeneville Greene Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grainger will be strutting in after a win while Greeneville will be coming in after a loss.
While Grainger didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Claiborne on Tuesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

McKenna Kee was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. McKinley Mills was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Grainger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Greeneville was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Volunteer, falling 10-1. The Greene Devils' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Greeneville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyla Jobe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Grainger pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Greeneville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Grainger's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Grainger has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Greeneville, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Grainger continue to outrun the ball?
Grainger couldn't quite get it done against Greeneville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 12-9. Can Grainger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
