Make it ten blowout wins for the Fruita Monument Wildcats this season. They blew past Durango 63-23 on the road. Fruita Monument's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Fruita Monument was led to victory by Jhett Wells and Daniel Thomason. Wells scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Thomason scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Thomason hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Max Orchard, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fruita Monument pushed their record up to 18-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Durango, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fruita Monument will challenge Grand Junction at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Junction will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Fruita Monument is ranked fifth). As for Durango, they will head out on the road to challenge Palisade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
