The West Liberty-Salem Tigers will take on the Indian Lake Lakers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Liberty-Salem 3.7, Indian Lake 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Thursday, West Liberty-Salem was able to grind out a solid win over Catholic Central, taking the game 8-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Irish recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jake Evans and Brodey Deam made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Evans struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Deam tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Evans has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Evans went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Deam went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Evans a new career-high.
In other batting news, West Liberty-Salem let Reese Oder and Isaiah Reames run wild. Oder went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Reames went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Reames has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sertell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
West Liberty-Salem hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catholic Central struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.63 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against London, falling 13-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lakers have suffered since April 30, 2024.
West Liberty-Salem's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Indian Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
West Liberty-Salem was able to grind out a solid victory over Indian Lake when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
