The Pratt Greenbacks were the 37-29 winner over the Hoisington Cardinals when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pratt ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-32 walloping at the hands of the Cardinals on Friday. While losing is never fun, Pratt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Cardinals are ranked 41st).
Jordyn Boxberger went supernova for Hoisington, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Boxberger is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mallory Mooney was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Pratt has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-3 record this season. As for Hoisington, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Pratt will face off against the Wildcats on Tuesday. As for Hoisington, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Smoky Valley and the Cardinals are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
