Basketball Game Preview: Dysart Demons vs. Coronado Dons

Dysart has gone 10-0 against Coronado recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Dysart Demons will welcome the Coronado Dons at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Dysart's favor as the team sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Coronado has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Dysart is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Yuma: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Dysart blew Yuma out of the water with a 69-40 final score. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 29 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dysart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamar Anderson, who went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points. Anderson has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Santiago Leyva was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Dysart was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Coronado came up short against Glendale on Wednesday and fell 48-40.

Dysart is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Dysart strolled past Coronado when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 74-55. Does Dysart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coronado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
