The Burke Bengals will head out on the road to  challenge  the Spencerville Adventist Academy Hornets at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Burke is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game  this season.
 Burke took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. Everything went their way against St. Anselm's Abbey as Burke made off with  a  7-1 win. Considering Burke has won three games by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Max Gruber was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out 12 over 6.1 innings pitched. Gruber was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  doubles. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Atticus Davis, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Ray Whipple, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought  match, but Spencerville Adventist Academy had to settle for  a  12-11 loss against Rockbridge Academy on Monday.
 Burke has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record  this season. As for Spencerville Adventist Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
 Everything went Burke's way against Spencerville Adventist Academy in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 as Burke made off with  an  11-1 victory.
