Humble Christian is 9-1 against Banff since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Humble Christian Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Banff Bears at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Humble Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Humble Christian posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against School of the Woods and snuck past 38-35. The win was just what Humble Christian needed coming off of a 62-41 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Noah Vickers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyron Williams, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Banff's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a hard 48-34 fall against The Connection School of Houston. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banff in their matchups with The Connection School of Houston: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaden Orideatu, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Anthony Perla was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Banff were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Connection School of Houston only posted two assists.
Humble Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Banff, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-11.
Everything went Humble Christian's way against Banff when the teams last played last Saturday as Humble Christian made off with a 58-35 victory. Does Humble Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Banff turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
