McClatchy is on a five-game streak of home losses, Bella Vista a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The McClatchy Lions will take on the Bella Vista Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, McClatchy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-16 to Burbank.
McClatchy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zayvion Barnes, who rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns, and Samuel Hernandez-Hartman who rushed for 106 yards. Hernandez-Hartman really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run.
Meanwhile, Bella Vista had to suffer through a rough 55-10 loss at the hands of Woodcreek. Bella Vista was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-3.
McClatchy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bella Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
McClatchy might still be hurting after the 36-14 loss they got from Bella Vista when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for McClatchy, Carson Renick (who rushed for 109 yards and four touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
