Basketball Recap: Trillium Academy Piles Up the Points Against Center Line Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trillium Academy). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 77-49 win over Center Line Prep. Trillium Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Trillium Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sharone Russ out in front who went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That's the most rebounds Russ has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristian Scott, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Trillium Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trillium Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Center Line Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trillium Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chavez Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Center Line Prep will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Lake Shore at 2:40 p.m. on January 5, 2025.
