Questa is 1-9 against Penasco since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Questa Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Penasco Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Penasco took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Questa, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Questa's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over Des Moines.
Alyse Lovato continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Cardenas, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Penasco's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 53-45 to Mesa Vista.
Questa is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Penasco, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Things could have been worse for Questa, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-41 loss to Penasco when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Questa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
