The Sylmar Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Bell Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sylmar 1.3, Bell 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bell will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Sylmar extended their winning streak to five on Thursday. The Spartans came out on top against San Fernando by a score of 4-1.
Victor Espinoza looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sylmar saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Martinez a new career-high. Timothy Sepulveda was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Bell made easy work of South Gate on Thursday and carried off a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Adolfo Esquivel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Armando Aguilar was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Rojas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.
Sylmar pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Bell, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Sylmar couldn't quite get it done against Bell in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
