The Starkville Yellowjackets will square off against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday. Starkville is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Starkville took a nine-run  loss the last time they faced off against East Webster, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Starkville skirted past East Webster  8-7.
  Tyson Knox was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run and four  RBI. That  home run was  his first of the season.  Zay Spencer was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Madison-Ridgeland Academy). Everything went their way against Tipton-Rosemark Academy on Saturday as Madison-Ridgeland Academy made off with  a  10-1 win. The Patriots not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 26, 2024.
 Aiden Peets looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the first time  he hasn't allowed a single  hit since back in March of 2024.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Will Bizot, who  scored four  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alex Lambert, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Madison-Ridgeland Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .375. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Starkville pushed their record up to 8-2 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy,  the  win  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Starkville came up short against Madison-Ridgeland Academy in their previous matchup  back in March of 2020, falling  8-4. Can Starkville avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
